Games that put the others to shame
Games consoles aren’t just for playing games anymore. They’re for watching TV, listening to music, Skyping friends, and a thousand other things. That’s all great, but, really, you want to buy a games console for, well, the games. The main reason people still love the Xbox One, is its brilliant games. From open-world racer, Forza Horizon 3, to The Rise of Tomb Raider, they have a reputation for looking great and feeling amazing to play – partly thanks to the improved Xbox controller, with smoother triggers and realistic ‘rumbling’ vibrations. What really brings the Xbox One experience alive is its fantastic motion and voice sensor, Kinect, that lets you play gesture-based games, and answers to your voice, so you don’t have to waste time scrolling through menus. This is the Xbox One S, which solves any issues gamers had with the original Xbox One. It's 40% smaller, looks chic in white, and can stand up as well as lie down, so it can fit better into your living room. It also has Bluetooth connectivity, integrated power supply, and Ultra HD (4K) Blu-ray Disc capability. In short, the Xbox One S is Microsoft’s way of showing it has a fun side. And it’s proper exhilarating fun.
Gamers are a loyal bunch. And Xbox users are possibly the most loyal around. That’s because Xbox consistently creates exciting, immersive games, that are a joy to play. Many say Forza Horizon 3 is the best racer around. Then there’s Forza 6, Quantum Break, Gears of War 4, open-world games like The Witcher 3, multiplayer games like Overwatch, and charming platformers like Inside. So many to choose, so little time… so you better get started now.
Say and get your way with Kinect
The Xbox controller is great, but it’s not built for quickly navigating through menus. The motion and voice sensor, Kinect, sits on top of your console to make life much easier, and games more immersive. It will recognize you when you come into the room, sign you in, adjust to your settings, and respond to your voice. From “Xbox, on” to “Xbox, watch (TVchannel),” to “Xbox, Skype (name)”, to “Xbox, record that” it will respond to your every whim and make using your Xbox a breeze. We say it’s a must have for the full Xbox One experience. And of course, you can get it through Grover for a very reasonable price.
Multitask with a myriad of extra skills
Games aside, the Xbox One S impresses with its other capabilities. It replaces your set-top box, for one, with on-demand services from the likes of Netflix and Hulu, and an Ultra HD (4K) Blu-ray Disc drive, for cinema-like movie viewing. It also gives you the social experience through Xbox Live – so you can play with friends and share your brilliance through chat, videos and screengrabs. It’s a computer, too, running on Windows 10, with 500GB of memory, and with three handy USB 3.0 ports, so you can plug in your other gadgets, and even another hard drive to boost your memory.
With its 8 Core AMD Jaguar processor and 8 GB RAM, there’s plenty of power for your XBox One games to perform as they should.
